Statement from Brook: updating guidance for sex education

Responding to an article in The Telegraph into updating guidance on PSHE education, to include online pornography, Simon Blake, Chief Executive at Brook, said:

We are very pleased to confirm that Brook, PSHE Association and SEF are in the process of writing a document about sex and relationships education that will provide updated supplementary advice to the government's statutory guidance. Teachers and young people have told us time and time again that SRE must relate to real life. We are basing this Advice on their questions and concerns. Lots of organisations are contributing and we expect to publish the Advice shortly. We look forward to continue working with children, young people, schools and government to ensure SRE is fit for the 21st century.
