Brook response to Sex Education Forum's survey on young people's SRE

Responding to Heads or tails? What young people are telling us about SRE, the report from the Sex Education Forum which outlines the findings of their young people’s survey on sex and relationships education (SRE), Jules Hillier, CEO of young people's sexual health and wellbeing charity Brook, said:

We know that good, thorough sex and relationships education helps protect young people, by helping them recognise what is and isn't healthy, and by providing accurate information on their lives and bodies.

The Sex Education Forum's survey shows that the Government, by taking an ostrich-like head in the sand approach to SRE, is leaving significant numbers of young people less protected than they could and should be. This isn't fair, as SRE is too important to be left to a postcode lottery.
