Durex DO... project

DO... aims to make great SRE happen for young people. It was created by a consortium of leading experts in SRE including Brook and is funded by Durex.

A set of tools, and a face to face training, have been produced to help provide teachers with the knowledge, skills and resources that they require to deliver great SRE to young people within schools.

Brook are excited to be able to offer one day (or several twilight sessions) 'DO… SRE for secondary schools' teacher training to help you and your colleagues build on your existing skills, knowledge and confidence to effectively deliver SRE in the classroom.

The training aims to support teachers and increase your confidence in delivering SRE.

By the end of the training participants will be able to...

• Describe their own values and how to listen to others
• Critically analyse sex and relationships
• Identify links between how we feel about ourselves and how we deliver SRE
• Analyse how we communicate with others

DO... has the following resources available to everyone

• Teacher training: to help teachers build on their existing skills and expertise to help bring great SRE to even more of our schools
• Self-assessment tool for schools: this helps schools work out what they are doing well and where the gaps may be in SRE provision.
• Action plan toolkit: this helps schools start planning and delivering a great SRE programme.
• Resources for teachers: which have been awarded the PSHE Quality Mark.
• Self-reflection exercises: to reflect on your own values and attitudes towards sex and relationships before going into the classroom.
• Teaching guidance and lesson plans: to use in the classroom.
