Durex DO... project

Research shows that...

1 in 5 young people rating their SRE in schools as poor or very poor

4 in 5 teachers say they do not feel sufficiently trained and confident in SRE

This problem needs to be tackled where we can make a difference, on the ground, in schools, where it matters.

Hence DO... SRE programme for secondary schools was created!

What is the DO...project?

DO... aims to make great SRE happen for young people. It was created by a consortium of leading experts in SRE including Brook and is funded by Durex.

A set of tools, and a face to face training, have been produced to help provide teachers with the knowledge, skills and resources that they require to deliver great SRE to young people within schools.

Teacher training

Brook are excited to be able to offer one day (or several twilight sessions) 'DO… SRE for secondary schools' teacher training to help you and your colleagues build on your existing skills, knowledge and confidence to effectively deliver SRE in the classroom.

The training aims to support teachers and increase your confidence in delivering SRE.

By the end of the training participants will be able to...

  • Describe their own values and how to listen to others
  • Critically analyse sex and relationships
  • Identify links between how we feel about ourselves and how we deliver SRE
  • Analyse how we communicate with others
