In Teesside, Brook has been commissioned to provide outreach sexual health services to young people aged 13 to 25 across Hartlepool, Stockton on Tees, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland. This includes relationships and sex education (RSE), condom distribution, chlamydia screening and health promotion activities.
Brook Teesside delivers a range of RSE programmes as part of an outreach and educational offer to schools, colleges, other educational providers and youth services/groups.
RSE sessions can have the following format:
- General education and health promotion at health/wellbeing events
- One-off education sessions
- Education Programmes/Groups work
All RSE can be tailored to the specific needs of the school, college or education provider and can range from a one-off assembly through to a programme of RSE.
Information and guidance sessions
Brook Teesside provides regular confidential Information and Guidance sessions in schools, colleges, other educational providers, youth services/groups and in collaboration with other organisations such as Virgin care across Teesside.
Information and Guidance sessions enable young people to access the following services:
- General advice and guidance
- Referral to other agencies/organisations/services
- Condom distribution
- Chlamydia Screening
Brook can visit your school, college or educational setting to provide Information and Guidance sessions.
Training for professionals sessions
In Teesside, Brook offer professional training to other professionals and organisations including How to deliver RSE, Introduction to Sexual Health services, Condom Distribution and Chlamydia Screening Training and Traffic Light training. In Teesside, professional training is subject to charging.
